Monday, June 13 - Wedding Bells!

Today is the big day!! We headed over to Ballyhannon Castle to meet up with the wedding party, including Meghan who is one of the bridesmaids. The wedding party and guests will travel to the church in Tipperary and to the reception in Ballina aboard a coach bus (yay! no driving today!). Our bus driver is Terry Flynn of Terry Flynn Tours and he has been in business a number of years doing tours in Ireland and specializes in groups from the United States. We were all SO IMPRESSED by his ability to maneuver the bus down the narrow country lanes. David and Mary are being married at St. Mary's Church in Drom, Tipperary. Mary's great-great-great grandmother was married in this same church in 1841 and is buried in the cemetery adjacent to the church. The picture below shows Mary and David consulting with Father Murray who officiated the wedding.

The wedding Mass was beautiful - it was a very humbling and meaningful experience being part of their day in such a special place. After the Mass we boarded the bus and headed for Ballina on the River Shannon for the wedding dinner. The Lakeview resort was a very beautiful spot and the wedding pictures there were spectacular.

We had a wonderful dinner, then back to the castle to pick up the car and head to Ennis under a full moon - the perfect ending to a perfect day!
