Counting Down . . .

Today was my last day of school before summer vacation. A bittersweet day - I just LOVED my class this year. It was sad to see them go, but rewarding to know they are ready to move on to middle school. We have had a lot of fun learning, laughing, and being together this year.

A few days ago Will came across this cartoon in a book called "Ireland for Dummies" (thanks Alexanders - LOVE the book!) . I laughed out loud when I saw it since it hit pretty close to home for me. Part of the 5th grade history curriculum involves Native American culture and westward expansion. I'm also a big proponent of student webquests (although not for discount fares to Ireland!) :) so this was a perfect parody.

In the days to come, my plan is to update the blog daily and give everyone an idea of what we're up to and some of our "adventures". I'd love to hear from you - so please take advantage of the "Comment" feature and keep in touch.
